Sharing Options

You can link to a specific timestamp by adding ?t=SECONDS to your Kitelink URL.

Sharing the below URL will start the integrated web player at 10 minutes:

A Kitelink visitor can start listening on the web player and then seemingly continue e.g. on Spotify (or any other supported listening app) right where they left off.

Limitations

Not all listening apps support this feature. Podkite's integrated web player, Spotify Web and Overcast have great support.

Autoplay

You can tell the integrated web player to automatically start playing by adding ?autoplay=1 to your Kitelink URL.

Sharing the below URL will automatically start playing the integrated web player at 10 minutes:

https://kite.link/pk-ted-climate-mindset?t=600&autoplay=1

Limitations

Not all browsers support this feature. Google Chrome, for example, only allows autoplaying audio under certain circumstances:

  • If the user has interacted with the domain (click, tap, etc.).
  • On desktop, the user's Media Engagement Index (MEI) threshold has been crossed, meaning the user has previously played audio with sound.
